How Car-Seat Friendly is GMC Terrain?

2012's GMC Terrain has been cheered for its safety and praised as a family friendly vehicle. So when it's time to test out the car seat, Chicago Tribune went out to help moms and dads of the world.
Like many modern vehicles, Terrain comes prepared with a latching system for child seats of all styles. How many car seats fit? Two to three child seats fit comfortably in the second row, while passengers over 6 feet can still sit up front without having their legs smashed.
"Terrain's two sets of lower Latch anchors will make parents quite happy," according to The Tribune. "The anchors, which are in the outboard seats, are visible between the back and bottom seat cushions. They're also easy to use."1
High-back booster seats are a perfect fit inside Terrain. Seat belt buckles "are floppy but don't fall behind the booster seat base because they're placed far away from it."2
As for convertible seating, Chicago Tribune found that the rear-facing convertible fit well too. Again, seat belt buckles can be moved out of the way easily to allow greater access to latch anchors.
You can find out the full line-up of safety features onboard Terrain, and all GMC vehicles, at Handy Buick GMC Cadillac in St. Albans, VT.
