Virtual Comfort from GMC

The new GMC Terrain has a scientific approach to perfect climate control attributed to one man and the engineering team, Jeff Bozeman, "The Iceman." Bozeman is "a high-tech top gun whose team created a way to make vehicle passengers feel much warmer or cooler than the cabin temperature in which they are seated."1
Bozeman used "virtual dummies" as a focus point for where the air streams in the vehicle would provide the maximum comfort for the driver and passengers. Virtual testing is one way auto makers speed up development, getting the final product out to customers faster.
"We can better understand things like skin temperature and perspiration and can get a read on a wide range of shapes and sizes of GMC customers," The Iceman added.2
The air flow testing was performed at GM's Climate Wind Tunnel in Warren, Mich. There, the environmental chambers can fluctuate in temperature from negative 40 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The final results were tested using the 2012 Terrain which is available from Hand Buick GMC Cadillac in Saint Albans, Vermont.
