The town and city of St. Albans are currently exploring the idea of merging the two entities. Since 1896, the city of St. Albans has had its own governing body separate from the town, but due to the large costs of running two separate municipalities, both the town and city have decided it's at least worth talking about putting them back together. Handy GMC owner Jeff Handy is part of the panel of community members. Jeff has a vested interest in both the city and town as he lives in the city but comes to work at Handy's which is located in the town. The community panel meetings have been taking place in the Handy Buick GMC Cadillac conference room and are open to all community members.
